What happens when you add two more doors to the Ford Mustang? You get something like the Ford Interceptor, an exciting new concept that will make its world debut at the upcoming North American International Auto Show in Detroit during January 2007.

This new rear-drive, four-door concept sedan dubbed as Interceptor, is based on the Mustang’s architecture. Ford officials were forced to confirm the Interceptor’s Detroit debut after several automotive publications reported a four-door Mustang was in the works.

Ford promises more information on its rear-drive concept by December 31, 2006.
