The Ford Fairlane Concept is the new breed of concept vehicles–cars, trucks and SUVs that seem they could go into production with just a few changes. The Fairlane is a departure from the traditional minivan profile, though it’s uncertain how much of the concept version will be carried over to the production model.
The Ford Fairlane 2008 Concept’s grille has three brushed stainless steel horizontal bars running its entire length. The horizontal design is repeated in the LED headlamps, which are encased in frosted glass covers.   The Ford Fairlane Concept holds six passengers in three rows.

The Fairlane’s low dash improves the driver’s visibility. The dash is finished with an oak and maple bentwood laminate which is repeated in the door panels. Brushed aluminum and tan leather are used throughout the Fairlane Concept’s interior.

A long, narrow air vent with multiple fins directs heat and AC to passengers. The Fairlane’s tailgate has an interior bonus, a small built-in stainless steel refrigerator. Next to the fridge is a flip-down food preparation area with utensils. Molded bowls are also built into the Fairlane’s rear door.

Front row captain’s chairs sit high and have thick side bolsters to enhance comfort and keep bodies from shifting around while the vehicle is in motion. The two-second row seats recline as needed and have storage bins in each armrest.Ford refers to the first and second rows as “first class” seating. It calls row three the vehicle’s “business class.” Like most third row seats, they’re there if you need them but aren’t real comfortable.
The interior offers flexible seating that can be reconfigured to accommodate different types of cargo. Fairlane’s dashboard and many of the other cabin materials are pure concept car stuff, but given that Ford has done nice work with the cabins of the Five Hundred, Freestyle, and Edge, there’s no reason to believe that the interior of the production Fairlane won’t be up to snuff.
Its emissions ratings show a 41-per-cent reduction in nitrogen oxide and a 46-per-cent decrease in particulate matter versus conventional models.
