The Ford Escort Mk-1 concept car
Filed under: General; No CommentsThe Ford Escort Mk-1 concept comes from Coventry University MA Automotive Design Graduate Rajesh Kutty and Benchmark Modelmaking Ltd.Escort Mk-I Concept is a modern interpretation of the original Ford Escort model, created with a retro-styling design language.
The Escort Mk-1 concept follows in the footsteps of the many recent retro-styled concepts coming out of American and European design studios including the Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Camaro, Ford GT40 and others.
These concept, and production, cars have been extremely popular both with designers and the general public often rekindling a long forgotten desire to own such a car.The lower pair of fog lamps remain faithful to the car’s predecessor and are directed outwards as was typical of the rally cars at that time.

Though there is evidence of its contemporary blue oval by having it ornamented on the 20” alloy wheels. One may argue crafting a retro-styled, indisputably handsome car that is evocative, comes at the cost of only so much innovation. The Concept Ford Escort Mk-1 from Benchmark is styled to look more like the successful rally car than the roadgoing model, incorporating the flared arches, race wheels (in this case 20″), integrated spotlights, and racing paintwork.

Ford Fusion 2009
Filed under: Ford Fusion; No CommentsThe three-bar grille that changed the face of Ford’s car line will go under the knife for 2009. After working its way into the rest of the Blue Oval’s passenger-car portfolio, it appears that the Fusion’s Gillette-razor-looking nose is going to version 2.0 as part of a refresh.
The Fusion hybrid will be Ford’s first foray into gasoline-electric cars and will borrow powertrain engineering from the company’s hybrid-SUV trio: the Ford Escape, the Mercury Mariner, and the Mazda Tribute. But will it be different enough (or should I say remarkable enough) to help it compete against the other hybrid sedans already out there (Civic, Camry, Altima)? Unlike the Ford Escape Hybrid, which they could claim was the first hybrid SUV, the Fusion is coming to the party fashionably late.

The Fusion is expected to use the same 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that teams up with a 70kW electric motor to create 155 horsepower in the trucks.
